Sept. 11th Lesson Plans and Book List

Title:  September 11th Remembered
Library Objective:  To remember those who lost their lives, their heroic acts and celebrate the love we feel for America. 

Resources:  Here is a great new book that commemorates the 10th year anniversary of the falling of the towers.
  • Reading level: Ages 6 and up
  • Hardcover: 64 pages (summarize and paraphrase as needed)

Project:  find someone special to do something for in memory of this day or do a service project, such as cleaning up a park or the school yard, just as the firemen and volunteers spent months clean up ground zero.  Then show your students what has been built in it's place:
