FRIDAY'S FICTION: "Me...Jane" by Patrick McDonnell

Fiction Picture Books
Me . . . Jane
by Patrick McDonnell
Little, Brown
I love this book, the pictures and text.   There are a variety of books about the life of this inspiring woman, but this one will capture the hearts of even the smallest readers.  Me...Jane is a quick peek into the life of  Jane Goodall as a curious girl with a love of nature, and books, and a stuffed chimpanzee named Jubilee.  It's a unique combination of watercolor pictures and the nature-inspired  engravings complement a simple text. Every element of the book's design, from its cover and yellowed pages to the photographs and Goodall's drawings, helps create a picture book that feels like an old friend, a cherished childhood scrapbook. All ages will enjoy this story from a young girl who follows her dreams.

This book is going on my wish list right now.  (Maybe I just need to head over to Amazon. :))
